When asking about the cover image the group gave an answer predominantly swayed by, two thirds, towards the idea of artwork on the cover instead of images of the students.
Question 3 was about cover image. Matching the dominance of males the least favourite color choice was chosen towards brighter colours, colours a female dominant audience would choose.
The most popular features chosen by our survey group includes discounts pages, problem pages and a job section. These features help to reinforce the idea of a first year student dominance. The features show a younger, less serious audience although the job section shows a sense of responsibility and maturity. When asked about the topics that the group would like to see in the magazine the most popular ones are music, film and games. The higher popularity of games shows the male dominance and the choice of music and film allow a wider audience.
When asked about a preferred release schedule, a monthly magazine was voted to be the most appropriate. This can be linked to the slight immaturity and non-organisation of the younger, first year students.The majority of people said they’d prefer to pay £1 for a college magazine, this also meant a medium amount of content within the magazine which is a balance of everything and easy to read. The fact that most people chose the option of medium content could imply that the biased origin of the 1st years could be behind the content level and the price. Although people reacted positively to the idea of a college magazine a lot of people were unsure and almost the same number were positive that they wouldn't purchase it online, this may because of the dominance of first years or males.
